How I miss being a kid sometimes! Here are 15 things I miss now that I am (sort of) grown-up.
1. Relishing your brand new school supplies on the first day of school.
2. Recess. Grown-ups could use regularly scheduled breaks where your only goal is to run around and scream your head off.
3. Trading your snack or sandwich with a friend.
4. Receiving handwritten Valentine’s Day cards with cheesy sayings like, “I Choo-Choo-Choose You.”

I live in your average middle-class neighbourhood where people take care of their lawns and most people on my street have 1.5 kids and a puppy. Most people are pretty friendly and say “hello” when they pass by—everybody except my neighbours that is.

There are two types of mothers: those who have been “mothers” all their lives (the type that rescues kittens and takes friends under her wing), and the type that slowly become a mother by necessity. I fall under the latter category. My daughter’s diaper was the very first diaper I’ve ever changed.

There’s something about the words husband and wife that conjures up images of flannel pajamas, frumpy hair, and sexless nights. I know there are many happily married couples out there, but when someone becomes a husband or wife, I think we start getting a little too comfortable with our spouse.
It’s like the words themselves start affecting our behaviours. For instance, my husband and I have always prided ourselves on openness and honesty in our relationship. But the other day when Josh went to use the toilet, he found that I had forgotten to flush…and it was not a pretty sight.

When people think of Canada, they often think of a cultural mosaic, a place where people from all cultures and ethnicities co-exist peacefully. The racial make-up of Canadians has changed dramatically in the past decade as more visible minorities are moving to the country. However, growing up as a child of the 80’s in Alberta, I did not exactly feel like part of a mosaic. In fact, I often felt like the odd little Asian kid amongst a sea of Caucasian faces.

Welcome to LuvBuv! As my very first official post I thought I would give you a snapshot of where I am in life. I currently work full-time at a software company doing marketing/advertising/design and I also do occasional freelance graphics and marketing writing on the side. As I’m writing this, I am busy preparing for my wedding which is just a couple weeks away. I am getting married to a great guy who also happens to be my boss. Boss?! I will be writing a post shortly about our juicy story. You can decide if it is scandalous or not.
