If you feel bad about cheating on your diet with that little bag of chips, you can comfort yourself knowing that at least you didn’t dine at the Heart Attack Grill.
Since 2005, Heart Attack Grill has been serving its infamous double bypass burgers and flatliner fries in its Chandler, Arizona restaurant. Nothing about the fast-food joint is quiet or subdued from its sexy nurse uniforms worn by the servers to its unabashedly calorific menu. Its unique concept has sprung copy-cat restaurants. Recently HAG sued a similar outfit, Heart Stoppers Sports Grill in Florida.

Infinitely more complicated and difficult than finding the right pair of shoes, the decision on whether your boyfriend or girlfriend is ‘the one’ is probably the most important choice we make in our adult life. The anxiety and fear of making the wrong decision makes grown men tremble and sophisticated women perspire.
But like most big

When I was a little girl, I thought that grown ups were these mature people that always had the answers and wore sensible clothes. I thought that growing up was just another milestone similar to high school graduation. Now that I am of the age of someone who could be considered ‘grown up’ I am still wondering when my time will come to actually feel this way.
I’ve come to realize that there are a number of reasons why we never really feel grown up, but the main reason is because of our families. Love’em or hate’em, families have the strange ability to turn back time and make you feel like a kid again. That time you wet the bed when you had a sleep-over? Your cousin will never let you forget it. That embarrassing baby picture of you with poopy pants? It’s on display and framed for everyone’s viewing pleasure.

A good friend of mine recently told me that she keeps a couple’s diary with her husband. This friend married her high school sweetheart and they are one of the closest, mushiest couples I know—after all these years he still buys her flowers for no reason and writes poems for her. So when she told me they started keeping a diary on their anniversary, I thought I was lucky to be privy to one of the little ways they keep the romance alive and strengthen the bond in their relationship.

Remember all those rules you learned as a kid about playing nicely with others in the playground? Rules such as no name-calling, no pushing, and wait your turn would do well when it comes to the adult world of fighting with your partner. For some reason, most of us have the tendency to get nasty

When I recently returned to work full-time after taking a year’s maternity leave, my husband became the primary caregiver for our bubbly 12 month daughter between the hours of 7am and 5:30pm when I am out. He’s a Professional House Husband (PHH) as he not only is a full-time ‘manny’ during the day, but also balances his professional life in the evenings.

Everyone enjoys having a good, hearty laugh, but is there anyone out there who enjoys a good cry once in awhile (other than me, that is)? Similar to a laugh which releases ‘feel-good’ endorphins, crying can be a cathartic experience that also makes you feel better.
Crying is often cast in a negative light; in my

A couple of months ago I was browsing through a book sale selling proofs and stumbled upon Impossible Motherhood: Testimony of an Abortion Addict by Irene Vilar. As my busy-body 12 month old would have it, I just finished reading this book last night. I’ve heard of a lot of different addictions, but an abortion addict is something that’s never crossed my existence.
I began reading this book and was fascinated and a little bit horrified about the prospect of reading about the type of woman who could have “fifteen abortions in fifteen years.” My critical side instantly thought, “Wouldn’t you have learned to be more careful after the first or second abortion?”

The blood coursing through our veins holds a link to our past. It seems that our ancestry can be now be found through a drop of blood. According to OutpostMagazine.com a Scottish research team from the University of Edinburgh headed by James Wilson has found precisely that – a single pin prick is enough to determine not only our motherland, but the village our ancestors came from.

Yes, we all have some annoying habits or traits that will eventually drive our partners a little crazy. Mouth-breathers, chain smokers, and habitually latecomers aside, there are some characteristics in a partner that could potentially spell real trouble for you and your relationship.
In my post Five Characteristics to Avoid in a Partner on HealthyPlace.com, I
